So, I basically go to Bagelsmith (north 7th and bedford) every effing morning these days. Bagelsmith has great bagels, a friendly staff, and is right by the train - so it is a pretty logical thing to do i think. They also have some interesting cream cheese options that you just don't see everyday (today they were advertising a new "chocolate chip CC", which honestly sounds disgusting to me but I support innovation). For quite some time, my staple has been an everything bagel, toasted, with jalapeno cheddar cream cheese. The JCCC is phenomenal, and often featured at bagel brunch. But just when the bagelsmiths had started remembering me and my order, something enticing caught my eye. That's right: bacon scallion cream cheese. This is a really brilliant idea for a combo, and the ratio of bacon to scallion to cream cheese is just right. It almost makes going to work in the morning worthwhile!
Also, it is currently 9pm on a friday night. Will someone please hang out with me?

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a really upsetting story.
When I was in college I went to the same deli for dinner most nights and got the exact same sammy (roast beef with swiss cheese, I think) every time.
One day I decided to change it up and order something different. I started to tell the girl what I wanted and realized she had frozen in the process of handing me a roast beef sandwich. She had ALREADY MADE MY SANDWICH when she saw me waiting in line, and then I ordered something else. The other students working there made fun of her, and she got really embarrassed and made me a new sandwich.
It was horrible.
Moral of the story: Do not order something different when they start to remember your order, or their co-workers will make fun of them.
Yep.
Also, that Chocolate Chip CC sounds great. Just to keep with the cream cheese theme a little.
oh my god. i laughed pretty hard at this story at first and then it made me really sad. she was probably so proud of herself and thought you would be really touched. that poor girl will never anticipate someone's order again.
oh and it's okay, because my guy was like "ohhh switchin it up?" and then called me an MVP.
i really don't think that there should be anything suspended in cream cheese. ever.
Wow, K, that is SO WRONG. Cream cheese suspension is SO IMPORTANT.
And yes, the story is both funny and sad. A dramedy, if you will. I think she was pretty proud of herself, and it was really depressing to witness her downfall.
